Private First Class Brandon Mitchell Warnock

Warnock Brandon 2Private First Class Brandon Mitchell Warnock- It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to our beloved son, brother, and friend, Brandon Warnock. During his short time in this world he touched many lives. Known for his humor, tenacity, quick wit, love, and dependability he was a young man who would drop everything for a friend in their time of need. Born April 14, 1998 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Brandon lived in North Carolina, Ohio, Hawaii and later Virginia. Spending his younger years in Ohio, where he excelled in baseball and cross country, he grew up and played daily with his little brothers, Charlie and Bradey. From riding his bike around the neighborhood, to fishing with his father and step father, Brandon had an active and happy childhood. As a teenager, he longed for adventure and moved to Hawaii to live with his father, step mother, and sisters. He was a strong big brother to his sisters, Ansley and Hailey; he was their protector, while also the household comedian. In Hawaii Brandon learned to love the island life where he soon took up boogie boarding, snorkeling, and hiking. He excelled at Cross Country as a Leilehua High School Mule in Wahiawa, Hawaii where he graduated in 2016. Upon his graduation, Brandon truly became a beach boy as he spent his weekends and nights hanging out with his group of friends he called “the squad”, boogie boarding and having bon fires on the beach. But, life wasn’t all a party for Brandon. After graduation, he toiled his summer away at the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor, restoring aircraft and historic artifacts from World War 2. Seeking more in life, Brandon left the islands to attend Liberty University where he made many dear friends. Finally, in the spring of 2017, Brandon fulfilled his life dream of joining the United States Army, where he became an infantryman later assigned to the Virginia Army National Guard. Brandon was proud of being a Soldier and talked constantly about his service and his brothers and sisters in arms. Although his countless friends and families are deeply pained by his loss, we have comfort knowing that he is with our Heavenly Father. Brandon is survived by parents; Jed and Lori Warnock of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Heather and Kevin Quinby of Warren, Ohio; sisters, Ansley and Hailey Warnock of Wahiawa, Hawaii; his brothers, Charlie and Bradey Quinby of Warren Ohio; grandparents, Wyman and Cindy Warnock of Dacula, Georgia, David and Doreen Calderwood of Leavittsburg, Ohio, Lee and Linda Shaw, Paige Eubank, Jim and Patricia Gore,; great-grandparents, Shirley Parker, Barbara Matthews, Mary Ann Stavana; and dozens of cousins, aunts, uncles, and his step grandparents who loved him dearly.A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2018, at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel, 1235 Walnut Street, Bedford, VA. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home, Bedford, 540-586-7360.
