Tobey Jackson “T.J.” Hartman, 58, of Moneta, died Monday.  He was born in Roanoke on May 15, 1953 a son of the late James Allen Hartman and Evelyn Hall Hartman.  T.J. was a manager with Big and Tall Retail Stores and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wirtz.  He was also preceded by a sister, Lear Dinia McGhee and brother, Randy Hartman.  He is survived by a sister, Marie Hartman, Wirtz; brother, James A. Hartman (Mary) of Appomattox; sister, Loretta Spillan and family of Kansas; brother, Tony Hartman, Wirtz; nephews, Matt McGhee and family and Stacey McGhee and family; a special friend, Pat Bailey; his estranged daughter, Melissa Lynn Hartman.  Memorials may be made to the Stroke or Leukemia Foundation.  Friends may gather at 2 pm Saturday at T.J.’s House on the Lake.  Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home, Bedford, 540586-7360
