Rachel Ann Foster McGahuey

Rachel Ann Foster McGahuey, 59, of Concord, died Saturday, June 25, 2011.  She was born in Lynchburg on October 12, 1951 a daughter of Love Lewis Foster of Concord and the late Robert D. Foster, Sr.  She was a member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church and was employed by Aerofin. In addition to her mother she is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years,  Gordon Calvin McGahuey, two brothers, Robert D. “Bobby” Foster, Jr. and wife, Linda; John R. Foster; a nephew Robert Foster, III; nieces Melissa Foster and Desiree Bryant. Memorials may be made to the Concord Rescue Squad, Concord Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.  A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Grooms, Rev. Dick Vanoy and Rev. John Pickett officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.  Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 317 W.
