Edward Stuart Harman

Edward S. Harman, 70, of Bedford, died Sunday, August 7, 2011.  He was born in Floyd County at his home on May 17, 1941 a son of the late Raymond Lewis Harman and Beulah Mae Keith Harman. Ed was a retired teacher with Bedford County Public Schools in Agriculture Education and Shop Teacher for 40 years.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Gloria Jean Johnson.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gable Harman, a son, Lewis Harman; a daughter, Donna H. Blommel and husband, Scott; sisters, Linda H. Eanes and Patsy H. East; four grandchildren, Floyd and Ryan Johnson and Dade and Ian Blommel.  A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel with Rev. Tom Bryant officiating.  A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August, 14, 2011 at the Topeco Cemetery, Floyd, VA.  The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel, 1235 Walnut Street, Bedford, 540-586-7360.
