Cathryn H. "Kitty" Warlick

Cathryn H. “Kitty” Warlick, 103, of Bedford, went to her heavenly home Saturday, July 9, 2011.  She was born a twin on May 31, 1908 in Wheat’s Valley, Bedford Co.
Kitty led a very full life Upon graduation from Bedford High School, she attended Blackstone College and Va. Commerical College where she taught after graduation.  She worked for many years as Office Manager for Leggett Dept. Stores.  In her retirement years, she volunteered for many local organizations and enjoyed many happy hours entertaining friends and family.  She was a very talented craftswoman and cook.  Kitty enjoyed life and she touched many with her kind heart and unselfish love.
She was an active member of Main St. United Methodist Church and also attended Bedford Christian Church.
Her family is very grateful to the caring and professional staff of Oakwood Manor in her final years.
Preceding her in death was her devoted husband of 37 yrs., S. A. Warlick; parents, C.O. & Minnie Logwood Hatcher; twin brother Claude, brother, Maurice Reid, and infant granddaughter, Cathryn Randolph Herrick.
Her surviving family include daughter & son-in-law, Randi & David Herrick, Bedford, granddaughter Kalin, who was very special to her,  Arlington  VA; sister Virginia Stanley; niece Nancy Falls (Jim) & family; & nephew, C. G. Stanley (Glenda) & sons.
A Celebration of her life will be held at Main St. United Methodist Church on Monday, July 18 at 2 PM with visitation following.
